It's Been Awhile...
OK, actually its been a loooonnnggg while... It's been almost 2 years since I've written a blog...life has definitely been happening! As most of you know I've moved back to Cali (I love this place!) and am back to living with the mom and brother. Things have changed dramatically in the last two years... 1. I'm back to working with the MVUSD Being back at Bear Valley is just like being back at home...the old friends, teachers, and office staff...like a breath of fresh air 2.Back to work (actually school) at RCC I can finally say that my 11 (yes the number is correct; I didnt accidently hit the 1 button twice) years at RCC will be over shortly! I will have my AA in Humanities at the end of this term! I will continue at RCC for the summer term though...I want to be an overachiever and complete more units before I transfer to CSUSB. Yes, you read right...I'm transferring to CSUSB for the fall 2011 quarter...I have never been so excited! The advisor I've spoken to says that it's possible for me to have my BA in 5 quarters! 3.My new relationship...with myself! Yes, I do have a new relationship with a great guy, but this is the part where I talk about the new outlook I have for myself. I joined WeightWatchers 11 weeks ago and Im down 13.8lbs! My weight loss journey has been amazing so far, but it's defiintely slow and steady. I've had ups and downs already and I'm trying not to let the "downs" take over permanently. I've learned that I am special and it's time that I make a healthy change for my life! Cheer me on people...I could use it! 4.My beautiful relationship I am definitely in the healthiest relationship I've ever been in and it feels amazing. We've been together about 9 months now and we're in an awesome place! No there isn't any serious talk of marriage...He supports my weight loss AND my schooling! He makes sure I count my points and do my homework; could I ask for more!?!?! Well, I think that's it for right now...getting tired and the battery on my netbook is about to die. Hope you enjoyed my first "new" blog!

Wish Me Luck
I HAVE AN INTERVIEW ON THURSDAY!!! With Wells Fargo...
Ive been struggling trying to find a job(if you hadnt noticed)and finally have the opportunity to show off my wonderful smile that everyone always talks about. I did find out that its only a group interview, BUT a group interview is better than no interview; right?
I also have an appointment set up for Tuesday with AppleOne(a temp agency). At least this way I know I'll have some sort of income coming in. I really need a paycheck! Hopefully theyll be able to find me something right away!
Anywho, Im excited and just wanted to share!!!

My Poor Legs!!!
Yesterday my wonderful friend Traci had a brilliant idea to drag me along on what she called a "walk" around the Red Rocks Ampitheatre. Man oh man, her idea of a walk is my idea of a hike! I can actually say I was out of breath walking up those trails and stairs. The amitheatre was awesome, but the view from up there is what took my breath away(no I dont have pics). I could see all the way to dowtown Denver and we were about 40-50 miles away from it!
Talk about sore legs though! I took some ibuprofen before going to bed last night; anticipating the soreness I was bound to have. I woke up super stiff and knew I had another walk to go on with Tanya today! Actually todays walk didnt turn out to be bad at all though. We went for a walk around the lake/pond at the Clement Park(where the Columbine Memorial is). Its a decent size lake and took us about an hour to walk all the way around it. Petey LOVED it; he barked at every dog and duck that looked his way! Needless to say, my legs have gotten more exercise in the past two days then they gotten in a long time! The hurt really bad right now; just need to get back into the swing of things. So I realized while at the memorial that the anniversary of the Columbine "incident" is coming up on the 20th. I cant believe its been 10 years! It was very sadden to go to the memorial; read what the loved ones wrote of the murdered, hear the water from the fountains, and feel the solemn energy that surrounds it. Again I dont have any pics(no ducks, dogs, or memorial).
P.S. I dont have a camera(obvious)besides the disposable that I bought and keep forgetting to take anywhere...

I know I know...
its been awhile since Ive blogged, but a lot has gone on in my life recently.
Lets see...Im sure you already know that Ive moved! Yes, thats right, finally made it out on my own! Not only on my own, but in another state. Honestly, its been one of the hardest things Ive ever done in my life! Not only did I leave my best friend(my mom), but all my friends and family. Yes, Ive made a couple new friends and I have Kenny here with me, but its definitely not the same thing.
Anywho..the journey out to Colorado was very interesting! Mom and Jordan drove with Petey and I in the uhaul truck. We made the trip over two days and thank God we didnt take any longer. The Rockies were closed the day after we came through them because they got a huge snow storm! I will NEVER make that drive by myself ever again! We had to go through two mountain passes/gorges(two too many if you ask me)and boy were those trecherous in that truck! Talk about anxiety...
Thanks to mom all the stuff has been put on the walls and in the cabinets. Truthfully, the whole apartment was done in no time. Jordan REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted to see snow, but that didnt happen. They left on Wednesday and it snowed Thursday LOL
So, Ive been out here for two and a half weeks and have yet to find a job. It hit me pretty hard this week when I realized I dont have mom to fall back on for finances. Ive been out almost every day these past two weeks putting in applications. Ive gotten one interview, no phone calls, and sore feet. Not to mention the interview I went on went really well, then I found out she hired someone with absolutely no experience! Can you believe that? I, honestly, didnt think it would be this hard to get a job out here. I have plenty of experience in several different fields and yet nothing...
Needless to say the job thing has me really depressed. I really want to stay in my bed all day long, but I dont that certainly wont get me a job. I guess its time to put my big girl pants on and get back out there...

Merry Christmas
After all the anticipation Christmas is finally over...
I wascrazy fortunate enough to work a retail job this holiday season and, boy oh boy, let me tell you the craziness that overtook people was absolutely ridiculous! Not to mention the horrible mall hours(working until 11:30pm three nights in a row sucks!). Either way though, I was able to have extra money for Christmas this year. I was even finished shopping early(the 19th!).
Christmas this year was different for my family. On Christmas Eve we went to my uncle Bills house to celebrate with a "mexican tradition". I had my first experience making tamales(not microwaving them, but making them from scratch). Talk about tough work! We played a couple interesting games about animals; even one in the dark! Monica's(my uncles new wife)family tradition says that only the adults get to open presents on Christmas Eve and the kids have to wait until Christmas to open theirs. So I got to open my presents from my uncles family. Manny got me some new lipgloss and Bill and Monica got me a Starbucks gift package and Victoria Secret mini scent gift box! Loved it all! Then on Christmas morning I was woken up at 7am by Jordan! He was sooooo stoked to see Rock Band left by Santa(no he doesnt believe anymore). After opening gifts mom made a Cinnabon coffee cake(delicious!!!)and we ate and ate and ate...lol Kenny and I then left to go to his moms house(yes, I said Kenny)for dinner. It was nice to get to see his family again. Mom was glad to see me again and so was Vanessa(his sister in law). Even his neice and nephew remember my name; I was surprised! Im pretty sure his brother still thinks Im an idiot for even talking to him again...oh well!
Anywho...my last day at the bookstore is tomorrow(hallejuah)and next week I get to celebrate New Years Eve with all my friends in Nipomo; I havent seen them in about 5 months!
P.S. Pics from Christmas morning coming shortly!

Randomness...
Lets see...
First, I'm glad the election is over with and our new president-elect will be in office before we know it. TIME FOR A CHANGE!
Second, I was recently called by the elementary school(Bear Valley)that I used to work at. I have now been a long-term instructional assistant sub there for 2 weeks working with the special ed class! Looks like I'll be in the position for awhile(since they arent even flying it yet)and hopefully it will turn into a permanent position eventually. I would really like the opportunity to reconnect with that classroom; the teacher is awesome, the kids are great, and the staff is amazing!
Oh yeah, my last day at the bookstore is December 27th! Im really excited about it actually; my body(especially my knee)cant take anymore standing 8 hour shifts. Plus, I want my weekends back! And how am I supposed to go to school at night when I'd be at the bookstore? LOL
Ive been back in contact with Kenny(the ex)since Thanksgiving. I feel like things have been resolved and my questions have been answered since when he left. We're only talking though and he has no intention on coming back(he lives in Colorado now). Ive heard that, not only does it snow there, but it gets below zero and if you know anything about me you know Im DEFININTELY not going there(Id rather have teeth pulled than be cold)!
Plus, Ive gotten a BED! No more futon...thank GOD!

Veteran's Day
Well, Tuesday was Veteran's Day and as you know my dad was a Vietnam vet. My uncle Larry (who recently passed away) was a vet as well. My family normally goes to the cemetary on days like this one, but this year I was in awe at a lot of the things I saw (all good). I took tons of pics and decided to blog about it...
Pic #1: The Wife
Pic #1: The Wife
While searching for my uncle's headstone (which is very new) we came across a man standing at a headstone in the row in front of my uncles. At first we thought maybe it was his mom (since the name was a womans), but then I looked at the birthdate...it had to be his wife. Obviously, I dont know what its like to have a spouse in the military, but this scene made me appreciate all the spouses who do (you know who Im talking about).

Pic #2: The People:
So, Ive been to the cemetary on Veterans day many times before, but this year it amazed me as to how many people were there! This pic is only a very small section of the amount of people that were there...

Pic #3: The Forgotten
I saw a group of young cadets placing flags and flowers on various graves and I asked their commander what they were doing. He explained to me that every month this group comes to the cemetary and places flowers on the graves of the soldiers who have no known friends or family. It amazed me as to how many graves they were placing flags/flowers on. Never in a million years would I have thought that so many of our fallen died with nobody to mourn them...
