Veteran's Day

Well, Tuesday was Veteran's Day and as you know my dad was a Vietnam vet. My uncle Larry (who recently passed away) was a vet as well. My family normally goes to the cemetary on days like this one, but this year I was in awe at a lot of the things I saw (all good). I took tons of pics and decided to blog about it...

Pic #1: The Wife
While searching for my uncle's headstone (which is very new) we came across a man standing at a headstone in the row in front of my uncles. At first we thought maybe it was his mom (since the name was a womans), but then I looked at the birthdate...it had to be his wife. Obviously, I dont know what its like to have a spouse in the military, but this scene made me appreciate all the spouses who do (you know who Im talking about).

Pic #2: The People:
So, Ive been to the cemetary on Veterans day many times before, but this year it amazed me as to how many people were there! This pic is only a very small section of the amount of people that were there...

Pic #3: The Forgotten
I saw a group of young cadets placing flags and flowers on various graves and I asked their commander what they were doing. He explained to me that every month this group comes to the cemetary and places flowers on the graves of the soldiers who have no known friends or family. It amazed me as to how many graves they were placing flags/flowers on. Never in a million years would I have thought that so many of our fallen died with nobody to mourn them...

Wow that is really just amazing. You take souch great photos. IT is very HARD to have Tim in the Military. I mean I was out there when he was on deployment and that was tough without a kid now with one kid and all it will be even harder if he had to go out to sea or to Iraq for 10 months. But we support them and love them more than anything for serving our country:) Thanks for posting this though. I appreciate it
